Magazine Genre Research

Halftime Magazine: the cover layout is a big blown out picture of an musician or guard person smiling, spinning, or playing during a performance. For this certain magazine it is a guard person spinning a riffle in front of a prop. The words Halftime are in big, bold text in a color that pertains to the picture. Has topics of discussion at the top as well as a insert of the type of band/guard they met with and interviewed. "Q&A with Vanguard" these words are in a orange text box to match the color of the font of the word "Halftime." Inside contains a table of contents with various articles. Advertisements are before every article. Some advertisements in this magazine are for various marching band instruments and or uniforms, and drink ads such as Gatorade and water. Project Selection- My Decision

At first i thought of producing a film for this project but while looking at all the positive and negative aspects of each project I've decided to create a magazine. A magazine would be more suitable for me due to all the extra circular activities i do. I can take photos and schedule interviews that are convenient for me and the person i am interviewing. I can work independently on this project. I feel that working independently can let me put my own spin on the assignment with different fonts, photo settings, etc.
