Creative Critical Reflection Had trouble with the voice over but this is what I would have said/explained. Voiceover- Number 1 use of conventions: From previous research of other magazine techniques and conventions I have noticed that the covers of most sports magazines are action shots. I wanted to replicate that in my magazine by having a team mate toss a flag to not only demonstrate the action of color guard but to appeal to the reader in a way many other sports magazines do. Most magazines have their headings and subheadings in a different font than the article. The titles are also another color and size. I replicated this in my magazine by having all my titles and subheading stand out so that the reader knows what he/she is reading about. My magazine is "The Stars Of Halftime" so it has to include not only color guard but the band as well. Question 4 How did you incorporate technology in the process? - At first I used Microsoft Publisher which is a good program. This program was very easy to learn because it looked so familiar to other Microsoft programs. Along the way I was introduced to Adobe InDesign. This program had a lot more options than Microsoft Publisher. Since it had more options it was hard for me to get used to the functions but in time I caught on to the various options and techniques in the program. I decided to continue with the Adobe InDesign program for that it allowed me to be more creative with designing, editing, and producing my magazine. For photos I used a Cannon camera in portrait and action mode. These two modes allowed me to capture great team/individual photos and action shots. I also used my I Phone 8 plus. The camera on my phone is decent for it has portrait mode and can take bursts of photos but the Cannon photos came out a lot more clearer.    

Question 3 How did your production skills develop throughout the process?  - I had a great time working with the camera. I wanted to capture action moments for my magazine so most of the pictures weren't directed they were more candid. But when directed the pictures came out great. The pictures were directed for getting group photos or individual shots. I worked outside and inside. Inside for when the band/guard was performing and outside for rehearsing and preparing. I scheduled or asked to borrow the camera when we had a competition which were usually every Saturday. I originally wanted to take pictures with a beach scenery but that changed when the schools scenery and the competition inside and outdoor scenery gave me more options to capture that perfect shot. Getting pictures were very convenient for me due to being involved in color guard I was available to many opportunities.
