Creative Critical Reflection Questions #1 and #2

Question 1- use of conventions: From previous research of other magazine techniques and conventions I have noticed that the covers of most sports magazines are action shots. I wanted to replicate that in my magazine by having a team mate toss a flag to not only demonstrate the action of color guard but to appeal to the reader in a way many other sports magazines do. Most magazines have their headings and subheadings in a different font than the article. The titles are also another color and size. I replicated this in my magazine by having all my titles and subheading stand out so that the reader knows what he/she is reading about. My magazine is "The Stars Of Halftime" so it has to include not only color guard but the band as well. To add the band in I included and insert shot of a band member on the cover and I added a couple articles about the marching season and winter season since both the guard and band compete those seasons. The social groups being represented would be extra curricular activities working together as a team. The age would be 12-20 however old but mainly appealing to teens.

Question 2- How product engage with audiences: I have researched kids Sports Illustrated, Halftime magazine, and People magazine. They all appealed to my target audience which is teens. To engage their audience the magazines included action pictures, large fonts, vibrant colors, and for Halftime magazine the same subject color guard and band. My digital distribution plan is to advertise on social media such as Instagram, Facebook, and Snapchat. The person who is viewing the advertisement can then click on the picture or link as see little snips of our season and articles from the magazine. Hopefully this will then intrigue them to buy the magazine or subscribe. Or another option is to have advertisements and emails sent out to viewers or subscribers to digitally distribute my magazine even more. For my marketing plan I had various ideas one of which is producing an tv/radio advertisement. This gives an outlook almost shoutout to the public or consumers if they see or hear something that they are interested in. Another idea is sponsoring an event or being an vendor at an event. This will give me an opportunity to discuss face to face what is included in my magazine and sell my magazine. Finally my last idea is an advertisement for my magazine on a billboard; for example the ones at games or on jumbotrons. During halftime or intermission ads can go across the screen and one of those advertisements can be an ad to purchase my magazine or go check it out via social media.
