Halftime Magazine: the cover layout is a big blown out picture of an musician or guard person smiling, spinning, or playing during a performance. For this certain magazine it is a guard person spinning a riffle in front of a prop. The words Halftime are in big, bold text in a color that pertains to the picture. Has topics of discussion at the top as well as a insert of the type of band/guard they met with and interviewed. "Q&A with Vanguard" these words are in a orange text box to match the color of the font of the word "Halftime." Inside contains a table of contents with various articles. Advertisements are before every article. Some advertisements in this magazine are for various marching band instruments and or uniforms, and drink ads such as Gatorade and water. The type of photos that appear on the cover, table of contents, and articles are action shots of a musician playing, guard person twirling or throwing equipment, a school showing school spirt, a wide shot of a school and or setting, or a musician playing their instrument in a close up. Halftime Magazine has been nominated for or has won: Music for all action awards, Music for all win 23 awards from the international festival and events association, and All-Royer drum corps awards. Not sure if these awards are for the magazine or just awards in general listed inside various magazines. Distribution number: 5K


Sports Illustrated: the cover is a action shot of a football player from the cowboys throwing the football. Has the words Sports Illustrated in dark blue and bold lettering. States exclusive at the top as well as what page number the exclusive is on. The exclusive words are surrounded by yellow lines almost in a text box. The kinds of articles that are included are found on Sports illustrator's table of contents which is the lineup. The lineup contains different sports teams versing each other and the opinions of players. The magazine also has a Money Issue which gives the reader a inside look on funding, marketing, and lairs of the various teams and players. There are about ten advertisements before or in between side articles. In the first 5-8 pages there are ads. Most of the advertisements are about trucks, shoes, food, drinks, etc. But in the main articles there are maybe three advertisements for every two articles. The type of photos that appear on the cover, table of contents, and articles are action shots either of players throwing a ball or running, close up of a person or topic, and or a wide shot of the locker room or setting being discussed in the article. This issue of Sports Illustrated (Money Issue Star Power) has not been nominated for any awards, but the Magazine Sports Illustrated itself has received various Emmy nominations. Time Magazine: the cover is a action shot of a  child hitting a baseball. Has the words "Time" in big capital letters and red text color. Has the main topic of the article in the bottom right side of the cover in white big text. Has a content page that has the main articles underlines in red and in bigger text. There are many advertisements such as: hair and makeup products, fashion/style, shoes, jewelry, cologne, etc. Advertisements are in the first 1-5 pages and about two pages after each article. Time Magazine has been nominated for GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Magazine Overall Coverage. Distribution number: (3,312,484 1923)



Golf Digest: The cover is a kind of close up I would say wide shot of a man looking at the camera posing with his golf ball and club. The background is all grey. Has the words Golf in a unique font and black bold lettering and the words Digest in white lettering with the same unique font. Has topics of coverage on the sides also in a black and white lettering pattern. Has the name of the guy who is in the picture and featured on the side in vertical lettering. Has a special opening preview that is eye catching. The words are in a circular all black box so that it stands out from the rest of the lettering/text and topics. Inside are various advertisements such as: Shoes, golf attire, drinks, men's products, etc. There are not as much ads in this magazine compared to the big other well known sports magazines. For example, Sports illustrated. The ads are on about two pages before every main article and in the back of the magazine by the side articles. I don't believe Golf Digest magazine has been nominated for any awards but they did sell to The New York Times Company in 1969. Distribution number: (1,672,888)

Inside Sport: Inside Sport is an Australian sporting magazine. The cover photo is an action shot of a sport player running with a ball. He is on a blank background. The words Sport is in a different large font at the top of the magazine and inside the S and P of Sport contains the word Inside in different smaller lettering in black text color. On both sides of the sports man are names of various players and topics pertaining to them and different countries and topics being discussed. Its kind of like their table of contents. The advertisements in the article are various brands of clothing, shoes, cars, and Australian products/food. Most advertisements are contained on the back of the front page and the next 3 pages and the last 4 or 5 pages of the magazine.  Well known for it’s powerful, award-winning sports journalism, every issue is crammed with in-depth editorials, features and profiles on the biggest games and the biggest names in sport.
